Art and morality
Blessed with an innate ability to understand and uncover truths about life to which others are oblivious, artists play an important role in society by sharing their insight through their creative compositions. Featuring works by veteran and upcoming artists alike, the ongoing exhibition of paintings and sculptures showcases a heterogeneous, diverse collection that provides a definitive commentary on the ethics, principles and mores of the modern world. Participating artists: Shanu Lahiri, Madhab Bhattacharya, Niranjan Pradhan, Shankar Ghosh, Sunil Sil (a painting by him appears above), Tapas Sarkar, Arnab Basu, Swapnesh Chowdhury, Chandra Shekhar Acharya, Bijoy Basak, Prabir Das, Indrani Sen, Milan Das, Subrata Biswas, Barun Roy, Somnath Chakraborty, Kaushik Pal, Kinkar Saha, Abdul Salam, Kaushik Bose, Indrajit Narayan, Sudip Banerjee, Chandan Roy, Sudip Ghosh, Sumana Ghosh and Tarun Purokait.

January 14 at Kala Mandir; 6.30 pm: In memory of Ustad Vilayat Khan and Nikhil Banerjee, Manik Shahani Art Foundation, Gameplan and Spandan present an evening of classical music featuring Purbayan Chatterjee (sitar). Accompanying him will be tabla maestro Zakir Hussain.
