Jalpaiguri, Nov. 1: The district police administration today launched a manhunt in the Mainaguri-Lataguri area in search of Kamtapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) militants, who managed to escape after last Tuesday’s encounter.

The raid, which was conducted at Basusuba village in Kranti, was led by Anand Kumar, ASP, Jalpaiguri, along with SDPO, Alipurduar, Sumanjit Roy.

Police said: two hardcore militants are leading a pack of about five to seven rebels. On October 28 incident, some rebels had sneaked into the nearby forest after an encounter with the police. Suresh Roy, a KLO activist, had died in that incident.
