Kalimpong, April 23: The Zed School of Information Technology will provide training in basic computer application and Internet usage free of cost, to people more than 26 years of age. The programme will start from April 28 and continue till May 10.
“The free computer application training will be held for two weeks so that adults who are interested can learn how to use a computer,” said centre manager, Zed School of Information Technology, Panu Lucksom.
“Most of the people who are in this age group are not computer savvy. They still think that computer is expensive and difficult to work with. By showing them how to use a computer, we want to remove the fear they have about the machine,” he added. “The training will teach them not only to use computers but also how important it is in today’s world. People will then guide their children and urge them to learn computer application,” said the centre manager.
People have already started enquiring about the free computer literacy campaign. “Mostly people who are above 40 years of age are keen on learning computers,” he added.
The course will consist of basic computer and Internet applications. “We will not only show them how to use computers but will also demonstrate the benefits of the machine,” said Lucksom.
