Calcutta University will introduce undergraduate admission through a centralised online system on June 10, sparing students the ordeal of hopping from one college to another trying their luck.
On June 3, the university will launch an information portal containing guidelines on admission schedule, eligibility criteria, subjects offered and seat capacity, and how to fill in forms and lock choices.
The university has 135 colleges affiliated to it. Seventeen of them are not part of the centralised, online admission for being autonomous, minority or self-financed colleges.
A student can apply to 15 colleges and in as many subjects. Four merit lists will be published.
