She's smart and sweet. She's confident and articulate. Zaira Wasim, who shot into the spotlight as the young Geeta Phogat in Aamir Khan's 2016 blockbuster Dangal, was in Calcutta on Sunday to promote her Diwali release Secret Superstar, co-starring Aamir. "Acting was never a dream and I still can't believe this has happened to me," smiled Zaira, looking fetching in a green dress as she chatted with us

Zaira Wasim, who shot into the spotlight as the young Geeta Phogat in Aamir Khan's 2016 blockbuster Dangal, was in Calcutta on Sunday to promote her Diwali release Secret Superstar, co-starring Aamir. "Acting was never a dream and I still can't believe this has happened to me," smiled Zaira, looking fetching in a green dress as she chatted with us at Novotel Hotel and Residences.Her turn in Dangal brought Zaira the National Award and the 16-year-old is hoping that Secret Superstar continues the journey. "It's a very relevant story and I am very privileged I got to play Insiya," said the girl from Kashmir who brings alive a teenager who has a talent for music, but has to face an orthodox father.And what does Zaira have to say about Aamir, her mentor, who has also produced Secret Superstar?
