Now, we are more connected to the digital world than ever before. It could be overwhelming. If you use an iPhone, here are some tips to support your overall digital wellbeing — from reflecting on your moods and emotions to understanding the value of gratitude.

State of Mind

How are you feeling? Log your moment-to-moment emotions and daily moods to keep track of your mental wellbeing. Users can also take assessments within the app to gain further insight into their risk of anxiety and depression. The feature offers you an opportunity to learn how your state of mind may correlate with lifestyle factors like exercise, sleep, time in daylight and mindful minutes.

Journal app

Practice gratitude through this journaling-style app. The idea is to be reflective whenever you have time. Since the phone is almost always with you, it becomes easy to note down thoughts. A panacea of modern life, journaling boosts mindfulness and self-confidence besides improving communication skills. Whatever you do on your phone, remains on the phone. Further, there is the option to set a timer before it requires the passcode to be keyed in again.

Focus mode

One of the most used modes on iPhone is Focus. You can customise settings and notifications to make sure there are no unwanted distractions — yet you don’t have to worry about missing important notifications, like a call from your parents. Apple gives you a way to customise notifications, Lock Screen and Home Screen, and even set a schedule to have it turn on and off automatically.

Ambient music

The new feature comes with iOS 18.4 and involves options you can add to your Control Centre for one-tap access to curated playlists for four themes like Sleep, Productivity, Wellbeing and Chill.

Alarm customisation

You can customise your alarm to make sure you open your eyes in the best of moods. How about Lou Reed’s Perfect Day? While you’re in the Clock app, consider setting up your Sleep Schedule to improve sleep.

Photos app

Yes, the Photos app can make you happy. In Photos, go to the People section, tap on the person who makes you feel agitated, then just tap the three dots in the top right corner and select ‘Don’t feature’ (that will make sure they aren’t featured in content like Memories) or Hide. On the other hand, if a subject makes you happy — like a cat — you can have their photos automatically shuffle on your Lock Screen for endless delight.

Apple Invites

It is a new app from Apple, and it allows users to easily create invitations to share special moments with the people they like. There is always an occasion to celebrate, no matter where you are. Here’s how to navigate the app. You can even select your background or create one with Image Playground, type in the name of the event and the location. What’s cool is that Invites will automatically include a map with directions, the weather, and even a shared album for folks to contribute to after the party.
