For years, the default iPhone ringtone has been Reflection. If you have been an iPhone user for long, the ringtone perhaps even plays in your sleep. Apple could be introducing a new ringtone. The latest iOS 26 Developer Beta 2 update has an addition called “Alt 1”, which appears next to the default ringtone.
Apple has not given the new ringtone a special name. It sounds like an extension of Reflection. You can get to the ringtone in iOS 26 by visiting Sounds and Haptics in the Settings menu, tapping on Ringtone, and then tapping on Reflection.
There are a few other changes that Apple has introduced via Beta 2 update. The company has tweaked Control Centre. The background is more blurred and darker than it was before to make the new Liquid Glass design more practical.
The new iOS 26 wallpaper is animated. If you move your phone, the wallpaper appears to “move”; it’s more glass-like and abstract.
On the home screen, there is a new Apple Music widget. It shows you all the different live radio stations that you can play.
ChatGPT can be used to generate images from inside Image Playground. Since there can be image requests, ChatGPT in settings now splits out into two — Image Limit and Other Requests. Once you create an image inside Playground, you can send it to ChatGPT for more refinements.
In the App Store, Apple added an Accessibility section to product pages and enabled iCloud sync for the Journaling app on iPads.
These are not the final adjustments or features because iOS 26 doesn’t launch publicly until the fall. More features could be added and some elements may head for the chopping block.
