Bhubaneswar: The Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) is set to reach Koraput.
The festival will bring leading Odia and local literary legends on one platform for two days - April 7 and 8.
Leading literary figures - such as Haldhar Nag, Sumani Jhodia, Debiprasanna Pattanayak, Hrushikesh Panda, Debadas Chhotaray, Hussain Rabi Gandhi, Achuyt Das, Mahendra Mishra, Jyoti Nanda, Bipin Nayak, Narayan Panda, Surya Mishra, Rakhyak Nayak, Biyot Projna Tripathy, Gourhari Das, Jalandhar Swain, Jagabandhu Samal, Laxmikanta Padhi, Alok Kumar Baral, Sushanta Nayak and Chandrakanta Biswal - will take part the event.
"The Kalinga Literary festival will promote an all-inclusive definition of literature which goes beyond the written text and includes all performances, informal story-telling and folklore," said Manoranjan Routray, convener of the festival. On this occasion, Koraput Literary Awards will be given to leading veteran and young litterateurs who have made an inspiring contribution to Odia literature. For the award, priority will be given to authors who are either natives of the Koraput valley and or are working for the area.
"We bring in our regional and national network to Koraput to encourage inspiring contributions and initiatives in the field of literature," said Rashmi Ranjan Parida, founder of Kalinga Literary Festival.
