Dhanbad: Topaz Tigers and Jasper Jaguar cruised to the final of the IIT(ISM) Premier League, the inter-hostel tournament, by defeating their respective opponents during the two semi-finals played here on Monday.

In the first semi-final, Topaz Tigers beat Emerald Knights by 57 runs. Batting first, Tigers scored 139 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Nikhil (40) and Sri Niwas (36) were their top scorers. For Emerald, Bala took 3 wickets.

In reply, Emerald batsmen could not resist the fierce bowling attack of Tigers and the entire team was bundled out for 83 runs in 16 overs. Ram Narayan was the top scorer with 23 followed by Subhash who scored 18. Sri Niwas was named Man of the Match.

In the second semi-final, Jasper Jaguars defeated Diamond Champions by eight wickets.

Opting to field first after winning the toss, Jasper Jaguars bowled out Diamond Champions in just 12 overs. The team just managed to score 48. For Diamond Champions, Pushpendra Meena was the top scorer with 13 runs.

For Jasper, Saurabh Singh claimed 6 wickets. He was supported by Abhishek who took 3 wickets. Jasper achieved the target in 6 overs losing 2 wickets. Biplav was top scorer with 24 runs. Saurabh was declared Man of the Match.

The final of the tournament will be played on Tuesday. The other teams that took part in the tournament were Administration X and Amber Warrior.
