Shillong: Anil Gurung saved the day for hosts Shillong Lajong FC by heading the equaliser in the dying minutes of the ONGC I-League encounter against Viva Kerala at the packed Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here Saturday.

Gurung headed a cross from fellow striker Seikhokau Tuboi into the net that resulted in a 1-1 draw after Viva Kerala had surged ahead through striker Sirajuddeen C, who scored off a rebound from Lajong goalkeeper Gumpe Rime in the 62nd minute.

Lajong have nine points while the visitors have five. Viva Kerala defender Charles Dzisah was man of the match.
