Calcutta: Sandeep Gurung starred with a hat-trick as Army Public School drubbed St Paul's Mission School 6-0 in the Keventer Cup inter-school football tournament, organised by Debanjan Sen Foundation, at the St Thomas School ground on Wednesday. Milan Gurung (2) and Subhojit Chanda were the other scorers.

It was a one-sided affair as Army Public School could have scored another couple of goals. St Paul's Mission School struggled to keep the rival forwards at bay, as inept defending and poor goalkeeping led to the debacle. Sandeep reaped rewards for his opportunistic skills and was supported by equally skilled forwardline.

In the day's other match at the same ground, Gems Academia overcame Mother International 2-0.

The first half ended goalless. Krishav Hazarika and Farhan Abdi were the scorers. Gems Academia put up an inspiring performance despite having to battle disastrous underfoot conditions and some solid defending by their rivals.

St James' got past St Xavier's by an Arindam Das goal at their home ground. Suvrodeep Roy of St James' was the man of the match. Ariyan Jaiswal and Abhishek Halder struck as Apeejay Salt Lake defeated Garden High by the odd goal in three. Hindol Banerjee was on target for Garden High.
