Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun and Sridhar test positive for Covid-19

They will not travel to Manchester for the final Test of the series, starting on Friday at Old Trafford

Team India head coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R. Sridhar have returned positive RT-PCR tests for Covid-19. They will not travel to Manchester for the final Test of the series, starting on Friday at Old Trafford.

Physio Nitin Patel, who was isolated after being identified as an immediate contact of Shastri, is learnt to have returned a negative result.

The BCCI confirmed on Sunday that Shastri had tested positive following a lateral flow test on Saturday evening. The rest of the squad, including the players, took the RT-PCR tests on Monday morning and the results are awaited.

As per UK rules, those who return positive RT-PCR tests have to isolate for 10 days and return two negative tests. Shastri, Arun and Sridhar will have to stay in London.
