Mohammedan Sporting will take on Real Kashmir FC in the semi-final at the Salt Lake Stadium on Wednesday

Mohammedan Sporting reached the semi-finals of the IFA Shield, defeating Kerala FC 1-0 at the Kalyani Stadium on Monday. The all-important goal was scored by Tirthankar Sarkar from the spot in the seventh minute.

Mohammedan Sporting will take on Real Kashmir FC in the semi-final at the Salt Lake Stadium on Wednesday. Real Kashmir defeated Southern Samity, riding a Danish Farooq strike.

Mohammedan Sporting started the match with more purpose and their efforts were soon rewarded in the seventh minute when Philip Adjah was brought down inside the box by Kerala FC goalkeeper Ubaid CK.

Sarkar made no mistake and drilled the ball into the top corner to give Mohammedan Sporting an early lead.

In the 76th minute, Kerala FC substitute Deepak Devrani was sent-off after he pulled down Adjah in a one-on-one situation in front of the box. Six minutes later, Kerala FC were shown a second red card when goalkeeper Ubaid handled the ball outside the box.

In the other quarter finals, George Telegraph prevailed over Peerless SC 1-0 and United SC beat Kalighat MS 4-3 via the tie-breaker. The match was goalless at the end of scheduled time. George Telegraph will take on United SC in the second semi-final.
