New Delhi, Aug. 8 :     Double Asian Games gold-medallist Jyotirmoyee Sikdar has been awarded the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award for 1998-99. Her coach Hargovind Singh has been chosen for the Dronacharya Award. The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, insitituted by the government of India in 1991-92, is granted for the year?s most spectacular sports performance. The award consists of a medal, a scroll of honour and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. The previous winners of this award have been Viswanathan Anand (1991-92), Geet Sethi (1992-93), Cdr Homi D. Motivala and Lt Cdr P.K. Garg (1993-94), Karnam Malleswari (1994-95), Kunjurani Devi (1995-96), Leander Paes and Sachin Tendulkar last year.
