A fair bit of attention would be on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma when Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians face off in what would be a crunch game for both sides in Dubai on Sunday.

The game will be about having a point to prove for Kohli, India’s outgoing T20I captain, and Rohit, who’s expected to take up the captaincy mantle in the shortest format after the T20 World Cup. Both would certainly be keen to outshine each other in terms of both batting and leadership.

Besides, the situation RCB and MI find themselves in demands both Kohli and Rohit to making sizeable contributions with the bat as well as taking the right calls when their teams bowl.

Mumbai find themselves to be in a tighter scenario, slipping below the top four in the standings. For RCB, they are somehow holding on to the third spot in the table, but their net run rate is something that would worry them.

RCB may think of bringing Kyle Jamieson or Dan Christian back in the XI while  they also need to be careful about not messing up despite solid starts.

Mumbai, on the other hand, mull the inclusion of all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who missed the last two matches.

“Hardik has started practising. So we are hopeful that he will be available,” Mumbai’s director of cricket operations, Zaheer Khan, said.
