The slow, tricky Chepauk track will come up with another stern test for both Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad when they face off in the second game of Sunday’s double-header.

The recent matches at the Chepauk saw the team batting first finding things to be extremely difficult, but even chasing totals of 120 or 130-odd hasn’t been too easy as the side batting second had to be quite cautious and selective in its shot-making. Stand-and-deliver shots and hitting through the line have been very few in those games.

The Chepauk has been hosting matches not just Tests, but also domestic matches since early this year, so a wear and tear of the pitches is something quite natural. However, Sunday’s game will be the last at the Chepauk and thus, alongside the Capitals and the Sunrisers, other teams would also feel relieved as they no longer have to go back there in this edition.

On Sunday, though, spinners of both sides will again be playing a key role and that could determine the outcome of the game. If the Capitals boast of Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel (now back in the squad) and Amit Mishra, who bamboozled a strong Mumbai Indians batting line-up the other evening, the Sunrisers too can hit back through their trump card Rashid Khan.
