Sreevats slams 201

After his unbeaten 199 in their CAB senior knock-out match on Tuesday, Sreevats Goswami (201) cracked a double hundred to take Kalighat to an imposing 506 for 9 against Shibpur in a CAB first-division two-day league fixture on Wednesday. Safi Ahmed was the other double centurion of the day, scoring 204 for Mohammedan Sporting Club.

Mohammedan Sporting piled up 468 against Tollygunge Agragami. In another match, Arjun Das (143), Soham Ghosh (106 not out) and Swapan Das (100 not out) cracked hundreds to take BNR to 488 for 3 against WB Police.

Cricket meet

The final of the inter-school under-16 cricket tournament will be played at the Jadavpur University second campus ground, Salt Lake, from Thursday.

The match will be played between the La Martiniere for Boys and the South Point High School.

Chirag win

Chirag United beat Mohun Bagan by a solitary goal to reach the under-19 IFA Calcutta League final, on Wednesday. Jagannath Oraon scored the match-winning goal for Chirag United. The club chairman has decided to award Rs 50,000 to the team for reaching the final.

Horse show

K. Dilip from RTS and D. Saharanpur, riding horse Ajay, won the gold in the individual show jumping prelim tech event in the 59th Kolkata Horse Show at the Pat Williamson Grounds on Wednesday. NDA won the team event.

In the tent pegging sword (Individual) event, N.K. Ramban won the gold, while Hariday Chheda won the laurels for the children hacks event.
