Glenn Phillips smashed the fastest Twenty20I hundred for New Zealand to help the hosts to a 72-run win against West Indies on Sunday and an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Phillips  hit eight sixes and 10 fours in his 108 off 51 balls as the hosts posted a massive 238 for three in their 20 overs after they were put in to bat first at Mount Maunganui.

Brief scores: New Zealand 238/3 in 20 ovs (G. Phillips 108); West Indies 166/9 in 20 ovs. New Zealand won by 72 runs.

Malan stars in victory

Dawid Malan returned to his hometown on Sunday to steer England to a four-wicket win over South Africa in their second T20I as they clinched the three-match series, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead.

Malan scored 55 off 40 balls to help England reach the target of 147 set by South Africa. England reached the target losing six wickets.

Brief scores: South Africa 146/6 in 20 ovs (Q. De Kock 30; A. Rashid 2/23). England 147/6 in 19.5 ovs (D. Malan 55; T. Shamsi 3/19). England won by 4 wickets.
