New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson, who is hoping to appear in only his third Test abroad, is aware that the challenge of playing Test cricket in India will be different from what it is back home.

Jamieson, who has made a record-breaking start to Test cricket, with 46 wickets in just eight appearances, is undertaking his first tour of the country with the national team.

The 26-year-old admits he’s short on red-ball experience in Indian conditions and will be leaning on some advice from veterans Tim Southee and Neil Wagner.

“I haven’t played a whole lot of cricket over here. I had the first half of the IPL which was good, but this will be different again,” Jamieson was quoted as saying by stuff.co.nz. “I’ve got Wags and Timmy here, so that’ll be good to bounce ideas off them. It’s certainly going to be a different challenge.”

Jamieson isn’t aiming to switch, however, from what’s given him phenomenal success in the five-day arena. He still has the chance to be just the fourth bowler this century to reach 50 Test wickets in nine or fewer matches.
