Calcutta: Uncertainty looms over Sunil Narine's availability for Kolkata Knight Riders' opening match of this season's IPL. The off-spinner lost his father Shadeed late on Friday, and had to rush back home. The West Indies team sported black armbands during Sunday's World T20 final versus England at the Eden, to express their condolences for Narine's loss.

New Delhi: Top Thai shuttler Ratchanok Intanon pocketed her second India Open Super Series title with a 21-17, 21-18 victory over Li Xuerui in the women's singles final on Sunday. Japan's Kento Momota saw off Denmark's Viktor Axelsen 21-15, 21-18 won the men's singles title.

Calcutta: Mohammedan Sporting lost 1-2 against Minerva Academy FC of Punjab in an I-League second division match on Sunday, at the Barasat Stadium. The visitors took a 27th -minute lead through Sehijpal Singh and got their second in the 40th minute through Arshdeep Singh. For the hosts, James Moga pulled one back in the 48th. After the match, Mohammedan Sporting supporters vented their ire in front of the team bus.
