The good news is you do not need any third-party app to scan a QR code if you are using iOS 11. Just point your phone's camera at the QR code. That's it. A notification will pop up with an action based on the QR code scanned. For example, if it contains the name of a WiFi network and passcode, you can join the network with just a tap. If it contains contact info, you will be prompted to add the person to your iPhone's Contacts.

If you do not see any notification after the camera sees the QR code, check to make sure the feature is enabled. Head to Settings-Camera and make sure Scan QR Codes is enabled.

Yes, it is. Open WhatsApp and tap on the Status tab. Tap on My Status and you will be shown the number of people who have viewed your update. Tapping on the eye icon will reveal the people on your contact list who have seen your update.

If you want to quietly view your friends' updates without them knowing, go to Settings-Account-Privacy. Under Messaging, remove the tick mark for "Read receipts". The downside of this is that you too will not know who has viewed your updates. You will also not be able to see the double tick turn blue when your message has been read.

iPhone legacy

Q My husband passed on his iPhone 5 to me, but when I try to create my own account on the phone, it also changes across his iPhone and iPad. How do I reset my phone without upsetting his account?

You must first do a factory reset of your iPhone 5. For this go to Settings-General-and press Erase All Content and Settings. Ask your husband to go to https://appleid. apple.com and log in with his Apple ID. He should then remove the iPhone 5 from his list of devices. You will now be able to set up your phone without disturbing his account.

There are several reasons why this could be happening. You will have to troubleshoot your problem first by running the Network troubleshooter and see if this solves the problem. In the search box on the taskbar, type "Identify and repair network problems". Just follow the wizard. Update the network driver. It might have got corrupted during a Windows update. Go to Control Panel-Device Manager. In Device Manager, select Network adapters-the network adapter name. Right-click on the network adapter and then select Update driver. Search automatically for updated driver software. While doing this, remain connected to the Internet on the LAN if the WiFi is not working. After installing the updated driver, restart your computer.

Sometimes the anti-virus software or a third-party firewall could be hindering your WiFi access. Turn these off and give it a try.

Log in to Facebook and go to the inverted triangle in the top-right corner. Click on Activity Log. Facebook keeps this log to track your actions within the site. On the left under Photos, Likes and Comments, click on the More link. Then scroll down and click on Search. Here you will see a list of every Facebook search you have ever made, organised by date. You can clear searches individually by clicking the crossed-circle icon on the right.
