First flower

The oldest flower in the world looked very like the modern lotus. No fossils of the flower have been found, but scientists came up with a 3D model of what it must have looked like after analysing a mass of botanical data. It had both male and female parts and three whorls of petals. Flowering plants evolved during the age of the dinosaurs, brightening up a drab planet previously dominated by ferns  and
