Apple has enabled a method to transfer playlists stored in Apple Music to Google’s YouTube Music streaming service. So far, Apple has not offered native tools for transferring playlists to rival music services, making this a first. No, Apple does not offer options to transfer to services like Spotify at the moment.

A few conditions apply: Only songs available on YouTube Music can be transferred over, meaning you won’t be able to transfer audio files like podcasts or audiobooks. Users are also barred from transferring curated or non-collaborative shared playlists, music files, or the folders you’ve created to organise playlists in Apple Music.

After logging in on the Data and Privacy page, ‌Apple Music‌ users can select the "Transfer a copy of your data" option to begin the transfer. YouTube Music is the only supported music service for playlist transfers.

To enable a transfer, an active ‌Apple Music‌ subscription or iTunes Match subscription and an active YouTube Music account are required. Playlists that are transferred are not deleted from ‌Apple Music‌, and the transfer process can take anything between a few minutes to a few hours depending on how many playlists are being transferred.

Once the process has been completed, playlists from ‌Apple Music‌ will appear in the Library tab in YouTube Music. In case you find a song missing, it’s probably because the song is unavailable on YouTube Music.

This is not the first time Apple has worked with YouTube Music. Last year, Google rolled out support for its streaming music service on Apple's HomePod speakers using APIs announced earlier that year.

Meanwhile, in India, Bharti Airtel is shutting down its music streaming service — Wynk Music. The company has announced a tie-up with Apple to bring exclusive offers for OTT video and music streaming services, Apple TV+ and Apple Music for Indian users.
