Bhubaneswar: Twins, a six-minute music video that has recently been released, features two sisters Somalin Parida and Janklin Parida and tells the story of love and revenge between the twin sisters.

The video also features Odia actor Mahaprasad Kar. Singer Krishna Beuraa composed the track, while Arun Mantri penned the lyrics. Sourin Bhatt and Priyanka Mitra sung the song.

Kar said: "I am excited with the response we received for the video. I thank all my viewers for their immense support. When I had heard about the project, I liked the concept and instantly agreed to work for it. Our team has put in lot of efforts in making the video."

Music videos are making waves on social media nowadays. Many of them aim to create social awareness while others are made on innovative themes.

For the twin sisters, playing the reel role was fun. Somalin said: "We are very close to each other, but in the film, we had to play against each other. But, the experience was fun."

In another development, a cover of the Padmaavat song Ghoomar by group of youngsters from the city is taking the Internet by storm.

Odissi danseuse Pallavi Das's cover, an Odisha folk dance version from the film, has won appreciation from people on Twitter and YouTube. Students of Guru Pankaj Udra Sanskruti Academy performed the dance.

This apart, a group of Odisha-born film technicians have recreated the cult Odia bhajan Aahe Neela Saila in a music video that has gathered momentum on various social networking sites. The idea of the video was to promote the culture of the state with a contemporary touch.

All the videos were released online due to budget constraints and to ensure a larger reach.

Film-maker Rajesh Mohanty says: "Online music videos not only help to evaluate one's work, but also reach out to more people."
