Bhubaneswar, July 27: The state government today ordered a crime branch probe into the issue of fake appointment of teachers under the Ujjwal scheme, an initiative aimed at helping enhance the overall development of children in elementary schools.
The order came after it emerged that a false letter was issued in the name of the department where an organisation, Diligence Learning Focus Society Trust, has been asked to provide teachers to schools under the scheme.
The school and mass education department has issued a letter to all district and block education officers apart from department directors to ensure that no unauthorised teacher was allowed to teach.
"We have strictly asked the headmasters of primary and upper primary schools not to allow any teachers without authentic orders from the government," said department secretary Ranjana Chopra.
"We have asked for a departmental inquiry to find out how the organisation came on the scene. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty," said Chopra.
