Bhubaneswar: The state government on Tuesday effected a major rejig in the IPS cadre.
IPS officer B.K. Sharma is the director-general of fire services and home guards. He replaces Binoy Kumar Behera who retired on Tuesday.
Santosh Kumar Upadhaya is the new additional DG, crime branch, while Debasis Panigrahi is vigilance director. Similarly, Binyanand Jha, will be additional DG of prisons and correctional services.
Additional DG headquarters Satyajit Mohanty becomes additional DG (provisioning).
Arun Kumar Ray has been appointed ADG communication and Pranabindu Acharya isADG railway and coastal security.
Santosh Bala replaces home department's special secretary Lalit Das, who is now CMD of Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation Ltd. Arun Bothra and Asheet Kumar Panigrahi becomes IG modernisation and headquarters, respectively. Amitabh Thakur will be the new IG, law and order.
