The event was inaugurated by governor S.C. Jamir yesterday and will continue till Saturday.
Addressing the participants, Jamir said: "Model United Nations is an excellent platform to explore the new horizons and the happenings all round the globe. We are all born in certain parts of the world and may have different physical or cultural characteristics but the whole world is one big family. It is our duty to know about the issues and difficulties people face in various parts of the globe. We should try finding a solution to them."
Secretary general and the chairman of SAI International School Bjioy K. Sahoo said students are gaining invaluable experience, making lifelong friends, and learning a great deal about themselves along the way.
Ranjana Chopra, the secretary of the department of school and mass education visited the global meet today. She said: "Economies of all the countries are inter-related. We all have certain duties towards other nations. Knowing about their problems, sensitising ourselves with their culture and having clear ideas about their culture is only possible through forums like this."
