Bhubaneswar: Police have hinted 30-year-old Jigyansha Mishra accidentally fell from the terrace of an apartment in Chandrasekharpur on March 30 and died.

The family members of the deceased had alleged that she had been pushed from the third-floor terrace of the apartment by Shashank Chandrabanshi, a sales manager with a private company with whom she had stayed on the day of incident.

The police said it appeared to be an accident on the basis of a post-mortem report and the lie-detection test report of Shashank.

"The autopsy report of the deceased revealed she was under the influence of alcohol. We also found liquor bottle at the house. When we interrogated Shashank, he claimed Jigyansha had fallen from the terrace and to establish his claims, he underwent a lie-detection test at the State Forensic Science Laboratory. The report turned out positive in his favour," said a police official.

"Shashank co-operated in the investigation process. We also interrogated the security guard of the apartment, who corroborated the sequence of events," said the police official.

The police said possible suicide by Jigyansha was ruled out after questioning her friends.
