Photograph exhibition:
Ajanta — the unseen jewel, an 11-day special photograph exhibition by noted artiste Binoy K. Behl, begins at Gandhi Mandap, Pub Sarania, in Guwahati. Organised jointly by the National Museum, New Delhi, and the state government, it will exhibit 68 photographs. The exhibition will remain open from 10 am to 5 pm. The district administration has arranged for special transport from Judges’ Field every hour.
Bamboo festival:
The three-day Bamtech and Bamfest, where bamboo experts will discuss how best to make use of this gift of nature, begins. Organised by the United Nations Development Programme and the North Eastern Council, Bamtech is being held at the Assam Administrative Staff College. Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra is hosting Bamfest, which will display products made from bamboo and showcase the local customs and usage.
