Imphal, April 1: The National Cadet Corps HQ Polo Team (A) entered the next round of the Director General NCC Polo Tournament, which began at Imphal Pologround today.

NCC HQ polo team (A) defeated its Team B counterparts 4-1 in the inaugural match. M. Bilam of Team A scored a goal in the first chukker, while Th. Gautam Singh scored two in the second and third chukker.

In the fourth chukker, NCC HQ Team (B)’s K. Samananda Singh managed to score a goal but Team (A) player S. Abungcha Singh score another goal to take the team’s score to 4-1.

The Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association organised the three-day event with sponsorship from the NCC Directorate, North Eastern Region, Shillong.

Four teams are participating in the tournament, including NCC HQ Teams (A) and (B) along with the Marjing and Thangjing teams.

The Marjing team will take on Thangjing in tomorrow’s match at 2pm.

The winner of the match will clash with NCC HQ Team (A).
