Guwahati, April 5: Gauhati High Court today sought replies from police and authorities of Miles Bronson Residential School here within four weeks in connection with injuries sustained by a Class XII girl student after she fell from the school’s three-storey hostel on September 20 last year.
The court issued the notices after Nand Kishore Gupta, father of the student, Neha Gupta, filed a writ petition (number 1492/2012) seeking a CBI probe into the incident, as he was not satisfied with the police investigation.
The school maintained that Neha had fallen after she had gone to the hostel roof, which does not have a boundary wall, probably to dry her clothes. Neha, however, said she was pushed from the building, but could not say who pushed her.
