Sonari, Jan. 20: The two-day 10th inter-district senior kho-kho competition began today at the Suffry Gandhi Maidan with the men’s team from Bokakhat defeating Guwahati 2-0.

In the other matches of the day in the men’s section, Rangia cruised past Charaideo by an innings while Tamulpur defeated Hojai by 12 points and an innings.

In the women’s event, Nalbari defeated Margherita by 13 points and an innings and Tinsukia walloped Charaideo by 16 points and an innings.

As many as 13 men’s and six women’s teams are competing in the meet, organised by the Charaideo District Sports Association in collaboration with the Suffry Regional Sports Association.

Sonari MLA and the president of the DSA, Sarat Borkataky, inaugurated the event. Former international footballer Tosen Bora was present at the inauguration.
