Jorhat, Dec. 19: Kaziranga University today signed a memorandum of understanding with German Simulations to help its MBA students to think independently, develop confidence and leadership qualities.

The MoU was signed at the conference hall of the university here between Ashok N. Ullal, CEO, German Simulation from Stuttgart, Germany, and Basant Khetan, pro-chancellor, Kaziranga University.

International business simulations, referred to as iBizSim by German Simulations, is a learning simulation which is expected to give the students of Kaziranga University unlimited opportunities to practice their business skills until they achieve mastery, especially in today's business environment which is highly variable and uncertain.

Speaking on the occasion, Ullal said the only problem with business games while teaching business studies today is that there is only one winner. "But with business simulations, we can produce a team of winners through various strategic simulations of business scenarios," he said.

He said aspiring students in business programmes of Kaziranga University need to understand the complexity faced by organisations.

Ullal said simulation plays a vital role in enabling learning by exposing students to various business processes and their interactions.

Simulation is a fun way of learning, involving affective, behavioural and cognitive dimensions. In this programme, experience needs to be structured to some degree, relevant learning objectives need to be specified and the conduct of experience needs to be monitored.

With iBizSim, a student understands how different business functions play a vital role in the performance of a company and how they influencing each other.

Khetan said Kaziranga University uses a wide variety of pedagogies involving experiential learning such as live case studies, global immersion programmes, international academic collaboration projects, live assignments and internships. However, simulation is the only method where student's experiential learning can be structured.
