Workers suspended

Guwahati, March 22: The directorate of health services today suspended 59 multi-purpose workers of the joint director of health services, Kamrup, Amingaon, Guwahati, for non-submission of any report on screening of population on hypertension in their respective blocks in connection with the national programme for prevention & control of cancer, diabetes, cardio-vascular disease and stroke.

Arrested

Dhubri: A grade IV employee in Dhubri deputy commissioner’s office, Gunadhar Roy, was arrested for demanding money in the name of Ulfa.

Dhubri: Dhubri DTO collected more than Rs 1 lakh from the vehicles plying without valid documents on Thursday.
