Guwahati, Dec. 26: A Guwahati-based NGO will send legal notices to Dhoom: 3 cast Amir Khan and Jackie Shroff, its screenplay writer Vijay Krishna Acharjya and the Censor Board for depicting suicide scenes in the film.

The NGO, Tree, will send legal notices tomorrow.

“Today, we have prepared all necessary legal documents. We will send them tomorrow by post,” president of the NGO Bhargav Jyoti Bora said.

Bora said they feel that the story, script and dialogues of Dhoom: 3 instigate suicidal thoughts. He said some scenes of the film even glamourise and justify suicide. Through their notices the NGO will seek answers from Khan, Shroff, Acharjya and the Censor Board.

“We will seek reply from Khan, Shroff and Acharjya why there was no statutory warning displayed in the film to warn people susceptible to suicidal tendencies on or before or after the suicide scenes. We will ask them whether depiction of three suicide scenes in the same film is justified for viewers of all sections of people,” Bora said.

“We will ask them this: Is there a guarantee from them that after seeing Jackie Shroff committing suicide on screen because of apparent bankruptcy, which is a common problem in India, nobody suffering from similar problems would be instigated to take similar steps?” he asked.

“In the notice we will also appeal to them to launch an awareness drive so that people do not get instigated to take their own lives after seeing the film and demand steps to issue a disclaimer or warning before and after the suicide scenes.”

The organisations would also seek reply on bike stunt scene shown in the film.
