Comedy show on May 28

Guwahati Round Table plans to tickle your funny bones for the sake of charity by organising a stand-up comedy show, Funny Rascals Season 2, at the ITA auditorium in the city on May 28.

Guwahati, May 20: Guwahati Round Table plans to tickle your funny bones for the sake of charity by organising a stand-up comedy show, Funny Rascals Season 2, at the ITA auditorium in the city on May 28.

Guwahati Round Table 235, comprising 80 members, is part of Round Table India, an organisation spread over 115 cities in the country with around 4,000 members. Round Table is a non-political, non-religious association started in the UK in 1927 and the age of the members are between 18 and 40 years.

The organisation has set a goal of developing schools for underprivileged children and classrooms in 1,900 schools all over the country are being developed. Corporate houses also contribute funds to assist it. The club here adopted Shankardev Sishu Nikatan in Dadara near Hajo in Kamrup district under the Round Table India's "Freedom through education" project and is developing the infrastructure of the school.

Chairman of the city unit, Parveen Goyal, said, "A total of 10,500 square foot is being developed in four phases, out of which 5,000 square foot have already been developed in two phases. The first season of Funny Rascals helped us to collect funds for the project. We hope this time also we will be able to do so."

Comedians Abhishek Upmanyu, Manik Mahna and Sonali Thakker will perform at the event. Tickets have been priced at Rs 2,000, Rs 1,500, Rs 1,000, Rs 700 and Rs 300.
