Woman dies

Dhubri, Oct. 3: Mafida Bibi, 18, a housewife of ward number12 on Amco Road in Dhubri town, was allegedly burned to death by her in-laws at their residence today.

Girl rescued

Dhubri: A girl of Grahampur village in Bhadahi district, Uttar Pradesh, was brought back by police with the help of Dhubri police on Saturday. The girl allegedly eloped from Majherchar in Dhubri 15 days ago.

Awareness

Dhubri: Dhubri district health department on Saturday launched Tejeshwi, an anaemia eradication programme in the district to create awareness among women.

Jumbo death

Jorabat: A female wild elephant was found dead in Topatoli hill near Jagiroad on Saturday. Forest department officials said the cause of the death could be ascertained only after the post-mortem.

CM plea on Games
