A trailer for the stealth-action game The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, debuted out of The Game Awards 2021 recently and teased what the German studio Daedalic Entertainment had planned for their upcoming adventure game.
The game follows Gollum, the fictitious middle-earth monster from J.R.R. Tolkien’s LOTR-verse formerly known as Sméagol on a solo hunt for the coveted missing ring, or his ‘precious.’ The game will chart the his arc from his time as a slave below the Dark Tower to his stay with the Elves of Mirkwood and perhaps beyond. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum finds Daedalic partnering with the Tolkien estate’s Middle-earth Enterprises for the first time. The trailer suggests that the game would let the players decide if they want to play as Gollum or Smeagol which could make things really interesting and could add a lot of texture to the gameplay.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is coming to Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2022.
