The Lalit Great Eastern
Kolkata is known to be a vehement supporter of the city’s queer community,
providing a safe space to party with their Kitty Su events. With Pride Month in full swing, the hotel is
now preparing to host the Kolkata Premiere of Sheer Qorma, a critically
acclaimed queer romance film, on June 23, from 6pm. Starring Divya Dutta, Swara
Bhasker and Shabana Azmi, this film is about the romance between a woman and a
non-binary person in a traditional family setup. The film examines the
complexities of queer romance through the added lens of race, religion and
generational divide, The Keshav Suri Foundation will also be bringing director
Faraz Arif Ansari for an interactive session after the screening.
This event is completely
free to attend for all, and those interested can RSVP by scanning the QR code
on the poster.
