Our endeavour at 85 Lansdowne is to always listen to our customers and market needs. We have been creating exclusive opportunities of shopping for occasion wear with a series of promotions and pop-ups with leading designers in the country. This festive menswear edit is no exception, as we continue to bring the latest and the best from the fashion firmament.

Tell us about the showcase…

We have spent the last year listening to the clients and the designers in the industry, gathering insights and processing them with the impact of the pandemic creating fashion storylines accordingly. Fashion in the post-pandemic time has become versatile and independent of trends, with lasting impressions. In spite of the scaling down across industries, people still want to invest in occasions, weddings, festivities with a refreshed perspective. Our festive menswear edit reflects the same sentiments. It is a mixed bag, with traditional and edgy up-to-date fashion, dictated by affordable values and Indian local talents, catering to young minds and tastes as well.

What are the top tips for festive dressing when it comes to menswear, which might seem a bit limited?

Men’s fashion is all about being personalised, composed and confident. In the new world order, it has seen a sea change with the man becoming more open to experimental looks with a sense of contemporary ease. It’s time for cool accessorising, bringing in a more flexible colour palette, adventure in silhouettes and investing in unique detailing that is reasonable and lasts in the wardrobe across seasons.

What are great festive accessories?

With men becoming more open to experiments, accessories have taken new dimensions. Take for example pocket squares that are more bold and visual than ever, bracelets, cufflinks and lapel pins have made a huge comeback and seem to add that lustre to each occasion and shoes are often being replaced by statement sneakers.

Designer speak

Kesya

Showing: A collection of men’s cufflinks and bandhgala buttons which are inspired by the rich heritage and culture of Rajasthan. The products aim to reinvigorate an interest in ancient techniques such as enamelling, hand-painting on enamel and carving of stone.

A great investment for the festive season: A set of bandhgala buttons as they can be passed down from generation to generation. The buttons also come with a set of rings allowing one to use them with different bandhgalas.

Linen Bloom

Showing: Linen Bloom will be launching our first ever menswear collection Nayaab in 100 per cent pure linen for the festive and wedding season.

A great investment for the festive season: Eco-friendly and sustainable products to make a conscious effort towards a brighter future for our planet.

Jatin Malik

Showing: With the new collection, the aim is to be inclusive. The idea is to put groomswear on the same pedestal as bridalwear. Since the new-age grooms are well-travelled and understand their requirements better than anyone, we showcase a variety of hand embroideries, silhouettes, and colour palettes dedicated to each event.

A great investment for the festive season: Versatility is the backbone of our design language. We try and come up with outfits that are not restricted to any particular event. One of those would be a Jatin Malik shrug set, which is not just restricted to the wedding celebratory events but could also be worn to the festivities. It has a flowy unlined silhouette, keeping comfort and aesthetics in mind, and could easily be switched between your festivities to an easy weekend soiree.

Saksham and Neharicka

Showing: A “modern-classic” collection of shirts, kurta sets, Indo-westerns and tuxedos in all the classic colours for a man’s wardrobe.

Great investments for the festive season: Our tiger-embroidered poplin shirt, any shirt from our collection of whites, Indo-western jacket in indigo or pink.

Aditya Dugar

Showing: The idea is to create a style statement! Menswear festive range created with an amalgamation of structured and fluid silhouettes, intriguing textures and sharp details.

A great investment for the festive season: Kurta with a minimal yet effective detail or luxe texture that can be worn as daywear as well as eveningwear.
