The Royal Bengal Tiger Cafe has branched out five years after they they started their journey from a Golf Club road address. The team has expanded too with architect Pranab Chatterjee and wife Aparna now joined by their son Prithwiraj Chatterjee.

The second outlet is located in the cafe hotspot of the city — Lake Road. With their aim of giving people a taste of Calcutta’s rich food culture, the second outlet has a similar menu with a difference in its interiors. Besides catering to addas, the cafe is also conveniently designed as a co-working space and a business cafe with semi-enclosed sections and a strong Wi-Fi connectivity. The hint of minimalism in its interiors adds to its purpose.

“The first outlet was doing phenomenal. We were happy with the response and wanted to expand. The vision is to form a chain that expands all over India and preferably abroad as well. This area is a cafe hub, so we definitely wanted a presence over here. Our first outlet has a very open ambience favourable for addas but here we are trying a different concept with a more personal approach. We tried to create a space where people can host business meetings. We wanted to go for a more private space with an understated look. We are planning to introduce a breakfast menu soon and live music too,” said Prithwiraj, a co-owner at The Royal Bengal Tiger Cafe.
