An officer in the traffic department said a Tata Ace hit the scooter from behind. The two-wheeler lost balance and skidded on the road. Fazlur and Razia both fell off the vehicle.

“A Tata Sumo was just ahead of the scooter. Before anyone could react, the woman came under the rear wheels of the Tata Sumo,” said the officer.

The police said the driver of the Tata Ace fled but the helper was caught.
