Swimsuit season is right around the corner and designers are paving the way for the summer of self-love, with curve-friendly, adjustable and elevated pieces that can get you beach-ready in seconds.

This season, dramatic cut-outs, Tarzan bottoms, woven one-pieces, bandeaus and monokinis are trending big. There’s a focus on easy-to-wear pieces that don’t restrict movement and actually let you swim! For ready-to-wear swimwear, shoppers are prioritising silhouettes that let them highlight their best features, so look out for features like tummy-control panels, compression effect, lace-up detailing, demi-bikinis, French-cut hems.

Here is MyKolkata’s guide to shopping the coolest beachwear this season:

Fancy Pants

Sisters Jankee and Stuti Desai started a brand that embodies trends while helping buyers retain their sense of style and comfort. Their curation lines up timeless, tried-and-tested pieces that are easy to switch up.

Their Champagne Supernova Swimsuit, for instance, is a sporty, neon, front-zip one-piece which offers great coverage and also has pads in place. You’ll also spot, statement, party-ready numbers like the Adele monokini that has dressy, puffed sleeves and a hemline that highlights your hipbone.

A la Mode by Akanksha

Akanksha Sethi’s label offers size-inclusive fits and body-loving pieces. From bikinis, swimsuits and beach cover-ups, this brand makes sure you are ready to have fun in the sun all day long! We also spotted some luxury lounge pieces that are ideal for water-side dos.

House of NM

Nidhi Munim’s label is favoured by almost every Bollywood beach babe. Sharvari Wagh’s headline-making gold monokini from Bunty Aur Babli 2 is also a House of NM creation. The brand is best known for statement beachwear numbers, which are utterly Instagram-worthy and ideal for vacations.

You’ll also spot some essential plunge swimsuits and versatile, lounge-friendly two-pieces. Some of their pieces use tummy tucker fabrics which are hard to find online!

Flirtatious

Flirtatious founder Aakriti Grover pursued designing from Milan’s from Istituto Marangoni and is essentially updating swimwear for urban buyers. In fact, the brand (that just turned nine) is distinguished by Aakriti’s optimistic approach to inclusivity and sustainability. Since the label’s inception, Flirtatious has followed the ‘made-to-measure’ model and has stuck to premium, sustainably sourced materials made from sustainable fibres, that have been recycled from a range of post-consumer wastes including plastic.

Verandah

Anjali Patel Mehta’s Verandah is known for its Italian-made swimwear made from regenerated Econyl yarn that reduces ocean waste. The label also offers intelligent silhouettes. Their signature Corset Maillot, for instance, features an underwire, a supportive bust, a breathable mesh back and detachable, adjustable straps.

You can also go for a surfer girl memo with their UPF50 printed sustainable paddle suits featuring a comfortable keyhole back closure, raglan sleeves, soft lining and a flattering fit, that suits almost every body type and doubles up as a bodysuit!

Their website is scheduled to release this month, but you can reach them at +91 9769191148 for orders.

Guapa

Reby Kumar’s resort wear label Guapa is a big favourite with young Bollywood and features some of the brightest swimwear and resort wear pieces. Sara Ali Khan was recently spotted in their Gulabo reversible bikini, which is made with ethically-sourced, Italian Econyl. Plus, it has a reversible top that switches between hot pink and orange and the high-leg bottom can help you flaunt your hipbone! The brand also offers sarong wraps, underwired bikini sets and cover-ups.
