Known for their solid-shaded structured occasion wear in western menswear, Burlingtons of Kolkata has recently ventured into Indian ethnic wear, too, expanding the range of their menswear collection. Their new comprehensive and versatile collection called ‘Treso’, the French word for ‘treasure’, features western, Indian ethnic and an eclectic range of smart Indo-westerns for the upcoming wedding season. Designed on fabrics like silk and tussore as well as Italian fabrics, the range features a broad colour palette starting from classics like black and blue to trendy pastels and solids like olive and maroon, keeping in mind the choices of contemporary men and their willingness to experiment. “Treso means treasure and the treasure in this collection is the intricate handwork. We have a legacy of doing good fits and made-to-measure for the last 15 years. Now, we are trying to incorporate Indian-style occasionwear and highlight the workmanship of hand-embroidery while keeping the silhouettes still very sharp,” said Ratul Sood of Burlingtons of Calcutta. “The trend now has moved into casual wear. But we are ultra sleek and everything is about a good fit. So, a person will come to us for an amalgamation of well-tailored fits, innovative designs and new trends in both western and Indian ethnic. Our legacy is western wear and Italian cuts, with our Indian wear we brought that with the Italian cut. We have a legacy of making slim fits and now we have a great sense of embroidery with it. Italian cuts with texturisation and embroidery,” explained Ratul.
