While many places are offering festive fare in Kolkata, few places serve them the Kewpie’s way.

So, we’re super stoked to learn that the dine den is reopening its doors on October 9 with the promise of a menu that will satiate all your Bengali food cravings.

Kewpie’s, housed in a 100-year-old building at 2 Elgin Lane, closed its doors in April 2021.

“The restaurant has remained closed due to the lockdown and I hope this time we can continue to stay open and it works out. Once we successfully get through Durga Puja we can take it from there and plan for the future,” said Rakhi Purnima Dasgupta, owner of Kewpie’s.

Now to the menu that’s been planned for Durga Puja. The menu features four thalas with an array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes you can choose from keeping the staples like luchi, Gobindobhog rice, pulao, bhaja, dal, chutney, papor and mishti.

“The theme for the menu this time is traditional Bengali food. It's simple comfort food and the recipes are from Minakshie Das Gupta’s cookbook, Bangla Ranna: The Bengal Cookbook,” said Dasgupta.
