La Martiniere alumni association hosted the La Martiniere Annual Reunion dinner called ALMA, in association with The Telegraph, at The Royal Calcutta Turf Club last month. Former students of the institution — belonging to different batches —attended the event to remember their school days. The alumni association also celebrated their 187th Founder’s Day at the reunion. It was a ride down memory lane for alumni members, starting with a speech by the current principal of La Martiniere for Girls Rupkatha Sarkar talking about the morning assembly to singing the school song together and pulling pranks on each other. The warm evening of meeting and greeting ended on a happy note for the former students by matching steps with each other to ’80s rock-and-roll songs on the dance floor. Glimpses.
Band Bluemist performed evergreen songs like Stayin’ Alive by Bee Gees, Time Of My Life from Dirty Dancing and many more.

Every year on this day of September, we meet for dinner and have some good time. We rewind and relive nostalgic memories of our school days. We love organising this event year after year,” said Jayajit Biswas.
Rupkatha Sarkar, principal of La Martiniere for Girls, said: “I’m very happy to be reunited with my boys and girls after two years of pandemic. This is a wonderful fellowship.”

Manish Dalmia from batch of 1992 with his daughter Shivali Dalmia, a recent pass out from the institution. “Reliving old and happy memories is always healthy. Today is extra special as I have come with my daughter who is also from this institution,” said Manish.
