Conveniently located on Burdwan Road in Alipore, with a menu that has something for everyone, and a sunshine-y New York bistro-inspired decor, Cafe X & Y is the first venture of nutritionist turned chef Vasudha Goenka.
The cafe’s name draws inspiration from capturing the essence of the customer’s present moment. Whether it’s them indulging in their world of food or savouring a moment with friends, it’s always about ‘you and us’ in the vibrant realm of X & Y.

Strawberry Daiquiri: Making the most of strawberries while they’re still in season is this fizzy berry cooler that has the right amount of tang from the berries.

Asian Rainbow Salad: This one’s a colourful mix of some of the most fresh and crunchy veggies such as papaya, carrot, edamame, mixed lettuce, herbs, onion, cherry tomatoes, with glass noodles in a sweet chilli vinaigrette with toasted sesame and peanuts.

Chef and owner Vasudha Goenka with sons Devrat and Akhilesh. “I am also a nutritionist by profession and for the longest time I have been doing home catering. All my patrons have always come back with good reviews, and that is what pushed me to open up a space of my own. In order to perfect my skills before I opened the cafe, I went in for a course at Le Cordon Bleu,” said Vasudha.
