In order to pay rich tributes to Uttam Kumar on his 43rd death anniversary, the Uttam Kumar Memorial Cultural Committee has planned the Uttam Smaran Sandhya on Monday, July 24 at Uttam Mancha (Mahanayak Uttam Mancha). My Kolkata is the digital media partner of the event.
Veteran actress Madhabi Mukherjee, who shared screen space with Uttam Kumar in several films like Chhadmabeshi, Agnishwar and Thana Theke Aschi, will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award this year. Last year, actress Ratna Ghoshal was presented with the award.

YouTubeOn the occasion, Kalyan Sen Barat and his choir will present a special show. Barat’s group turned 45 this year.
Popular singers like Indranil Sen, Rupankar Bagchi, Lopamudra Mitra, Sreeradha Bandyopadhyay, Manomoy Bhattacharya, Srikanta Acharya will attend the programme. Devlina Kumar will also be present.

Carrying forward Uttam Kumar’s philanthropic legacy, the committee would also assist artists and technicians who had worked with Uttam Kumar with financial and medical support.
