“I feel very emotional seeing students from 1953 right up to the present day. It goes to show that they have received something valuable from the school, which makes them come back despite staying miles away. It is not a school, it is a home for many of us,” said Brother Adolph Pinto, principal of St. Joseph’s College.

St.Joseph’s College Old Boys Association (SJCOBA) organised the 19th Annual Reunion Dinner, in association with The Telegraph, at the St. Joseph’s College school grounds on January 14.

An air of nostalgia prevailed all over the school campus as ex-Josephytes from the batches of 1965 to the most recent batch of 2022 came together to celebrate their bond and relive memories. The event commenced with an award ceremony where alumni members were honoured and felicitated for their noteworthy achievements and contributions to society. The ex-students celebrated old bonds and recapitulated fond memories of their school days over some energetic musical performances by Christian Lobo and Kaif Khan. The melodious performances were followed by a delish dinner from Baig Sahab. Snapshots:

“I am here after 30 years and I do not think that this feeling can be explained in words. Reliving everything, especially the pranks I pulled with my friends has been very nostalgic for me,” said Viral Thakkar, batch of 1995, who came all the way from Chicago to attend the reunion.

“We owe so much to St. Joseph’s College for making us who we are today and it is always wonderful to come back and meet people you have not seen in years. We are all very proud of the values that the school has inculcated in us, especially studying under the Irish Christian Brothers has taught us to give to the society and not to count the cost. These values have taken us a long way,” said Imran Zaki, batch of 1989.

Performances by Christian Lobo and Kaif Khan kept the audience up on their feet all evening as they grooved to Bollywood and English chartbusters and foot-tapping numbers.
