The IIHM Calcutta Hospitality Cup, organised by the International Institute of Hotel Management, was back in the city with another edition. Held last month at Springfield, The Spring Club, the cricket match took place between the staff of some of the top hotels in the city. The game involved much cheer and enthusiastic participation from all teams and was a great show of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The two-day event had a series of matches culminating in two semifinal games and a final match. Besides fielding 11-member teams, the participating hotels also took part in special matches like the General Managers’ match and the women’s match, a new introduction to the game this year.

“This event is always a great chance for everyone to come together and build on their friendship. The hospitality industry had undoubtedly gone through a lot during the pandemic but everything is getting back to normal and this event, too, is growing with every edition. In the industry, everyone present might be competitors to each other, but here, it is a friendly game that helps everyone get to know one another,” said Suborno Bose, chairman, IIHM. Glimpses:
